Kuala Lumpur via Malaysia Airlines
London → Kuala Lumpur → Bali (a budget-friendly option with easy onward flights)
Bangkok via Thai Airways
London → Bangkok → Bali (another convenient route, especially if you plan to explore Thailand too)
✈️ Total travel time: typically between 17 and 24 hours, depending on the length of your layover.
For UK travellers, the entry process is simple and friendly:
Visa on Arrival (VOA) is available for 30 days (extendable once).
Cost: 500,000 IDR (around £25), payable by card or cash at the airport.
Requirements: a passport valid for at least six months and proof of onward or return travel.
Tourist Levy: 150,000 IDR (about £7.50), payable online or upon arrival to support local sustainability projects.
New All-Indonesia App: a single digital declaration form (customs, immigration, health) — complete it online before flying for faster processing.
In short, entry is straightforward — and getting easier with digital systems now streamlining the arrival process.
Book early: Bali is in high demand year-round, and fares rise fast.
Avoid tight layovers: give yourself at least 90–120 minutes between flights.
Break up the journey: consider an overnight stop in Dubai, Doha, or Singapore.
Arrange your e-VOA or app form in advance to skip long queues.
Check your airport transfer in advance — Bali’s traffic can be unpredictable during peak hours.
Landing in Bali feels like stepping into a tropical postcard. From the airport, you’re just minutes away from Seminyak’s beachfront villas, Canggu’s surf cafés, or the cultural heart of Ubud.
Infrastructure is strong, SIM cards and taxis are easy to find, and digital nomad hubs like Canggu and Uluwatu have reliable Wi-Fi, co-working spaces, and excellent international dining.
It’s not just a holiday destination — many visitors are now choosing to stay longer, invest in villas, or even relocate full-time thanks to new visa programs for investors and digital professionals.
Bali’s property market has seen incredible growth, especially in the south — Uluwatu, Bingin, Canggu, and Ubud are now key hotspots for boutique resorts and private villas.
